Making PhDs accessible, globally

I created a YouTube channel that made various key parts of the PhD journey accessible, including: assessing life trajectories, exploring PhD life, and applying to PhD programs.

If you’re thinking about life trajectories

There are a lot of biology-inclined people wondering whether they should go to medical school or whether there are other options there for them. Here I explain why I chose to do a Ph.D instead of going into a health profession (in my case, dental school). Of course, remember that there's the option to do both... via an MD/Ph.D, which has its own pros and cons as well.

If you’re exploring PhD life

What does the average day of a first year in a Biology Ph.D look like? I show you what it's like to be in the midst of classes and making lab decisions.

If you are applying to Ph.D programs

The following is a playlist of 13 videos filmed to give Ph.D applicants a view of the application process and give advice about applications and interview. Most videos were filmed in collaboration with fellow student Tre Artis in Fall 2019.

If you are applying for scholarships & fellowships

I share what I believe were the essentials of winning multiple fellowships. In this playlist I cover the essentials and delve deeper into particular scholarships and fellowships I have won (NSF GRFP & the HHMI Gilliam Fellowship).
